Fees Collection Manager

Salary range: from £25-30,000 (depending on experience) + benefits

Hardwicke is modern, established barristers' chambers based in Lincoln's Inn in Central London.

We are looking for an experienced fees collection manager to join our busy team in managing the professional fees for over 80 barristers. Hardwicke’s  Fees Team is an essential part of chambers’ credit control operation, making sure that outstanding fees are collected promptly and effectively.

 

The day to day role involves:

The fees team is responsible for managing c1000 live accounts, issuing invoices and reminders and accounting for cash received. Fees managers take responsibility for the collection of about 20 barristers and their aged debt, using a range of follow-up methods.  Reporting to the Practice Director and Senior Fees Management Consultant, you will work closely with the Practice Management Team who look after business development and client relationship management.

 

The skills required for this job include:

Accuracy and attention to detail, determination to solve problems, ability to work on your own and be a committed team member, good record keeping, enthusiasm and energy, good telephone manner, pride in delivering a good service, good IT skills with experience including LEX (or similar) case management system and Excel, and having a courteous and professional approach.

 

The person we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have c5 years’ experience of credit control ideally within a chambers, law firm or other professional service organisation where balancing fee chasing and maintaining on-going client relationships is important.  Experience of cash collection for litigation and/or cost drafting would be desirable but is not essential.
