Planning

Hardwicke barristers can assist you with issues affecting planning applications, planning inquiries, planning appeals and planning prosecutions. Our barristers offer a complete, approachable and client-focused service. They have the expert knowledge and skills to put planning issues in a commercial, property, public law and human rights context where appropriate.

Hardwicke offers a particularly well developed expertise in highway law and inquires.  That expertise comes from representing the Secretary of State for Transport and other Highway Authorities in many of the major public inquiries over the past 20 years (both as leading and junior counsel).  These have included inquiries into the Newbury Bypass, Birmingham Toll Road and Stonehenge.  Hardwicke is currently involved in advising in relation to the M1 Widening scheme and the A14 Ellington to Fen Ditton scheme. Our barristers also have a particular interest and expertise in planning issues relating to agricultural land, property development, religious organisations, and travellers.

The Senior Practice Manager for planning work is Paul Horsfield, who can be reached on 020 7691 0048 or email paul.horsfield@hardwicke.co.uk. Alternatively, please call any of our friendly and professional practice managers on 020 7242 2523 or email enquiries@hardwicke.co.uk.
