Introduction

Katrina specialises in property, insolvency and commercial law. Her clients describe her as “articulate and knowledgeable” and “approachable and precise”. She is an experienced trial advocate for her call and is frequently instructed to appear in the higher and appellate courts and tribunals. Judges have described her submissions as “exceptionally intelligent and well measured” and her cross-examination skills as “remarkable, particularly for one so junior”.

Katrina’s recent instructions include:

  • acting in an application for dispensation and assessment of the reasonableness of service charges in the region of £900,000
  • advising on the distribution of premium in an enfranchisement claim
  • advising on liability under leasehold repairing covenants
  • drafting an appeal under the Companies Act 2006 in the High Court
  • appearing in an application to prevent the presentation of a winding-up petition against a Formula 1 company (led by Jonathan Titmuss)

She has the advantage of having previously had a successful career in politics, her natural oratory ability having secured her place as a ‘go-to’ media spokesperson. She sat on a government select committee for two years and was instrumental in bringing about legislative reform. She has delivered keynote addresses to audiences of thousands, given speeches to EU summits and in the House of Lords.
