Inquiries & Inquests

Our barristers have experience of representing bereaved families at inquests, whether as a result of a medical accident, RTA or other incident.  Such representation may give rise to public law issues, such as the application of Article 2. It may also go in parallel with a private law action for damages, on behalf of the deceased’s estate and dependents.

One of our barristers is HM Deputy Coroner for London North, and we have provided representation and advice in major enquiries such as the Harold Shipman Enquiry.

The range of public and private inquiries is considerable, and in addition members of Hardwicke Public have considerable experience of appearing before fitness to practise inquiries. For more information on this aspect, please visit our Professional Discipline section.

The Senior Practice Manager for inquests and inquiries work is Daniel Kemp, who can be reached on 020 7691 0003 or email daniel.kemp@hardwicke.co.uk. Alternatively, please call any of our friendly and professional practice managers on 020 7242 2523 or email enquiries@hardwicke.co.uk.
