How to apply - 3rd Six Pupillage

Chambers welcomes 3rd six pupillage applications and will declare vacancies for 3rd six pupils when they become available on this page and throughout the Inns. We do not generally accept ad hoc applications for 3rd six pupillage; we are committed to our pupillage process and want to ensure that as many of our pupils as possible, whether 12 month or 3rd six, have the best chance of attaining tenancy and it is for this reason that we will only advertise for a 3rd six pupil when there is a genuine need. 

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high standard of education, a desire to work primarily in London and the South East, and an experience of working with a wide range of professional and lay clients. We look for the same qualities in our third six candidates as we look for in pupils and prospective tenants. For more information see our 'What are we looking for' page.

Applications should be made by covering letter and CV and clearly marked “3rd six application”. The application should include details of Court experience together with a copy of a previously drafted piece of written work (anonymised please), and up to two references.
