Hardwicke's Property Team invites you to a topical seminar outlining innovations in property rights.
This seminar will cover:
Making Land Work: Easements – the Proposed New Law with Nicola Muir
Nicola will be looking at proposals contained in the Law Commission's Report dated 8th June 2011 for the reform of the Law of Easements. These include:
- Simplification of the rules of acquisition and abandonment
- Creation of new forms of easement, e.g. the right to park
- Powers to discharge and modify easements.
Commons Registration with Rupert Higgins
- Registration as a Town or Village Green
- The Pilot Implementation Areas
- Applying the principles
- Recent Authorities including Paddico v Kirklees [2011]
Residential Property: Registered proprietors and adverse possession - Baxter v Mannion (2011) with Peter Petts
- The law of adverse possession and registered land
- The impact of Baxter v Mannion (2011) on the law of adverse possession
- Protecting registered proprietors from adverse possession
