- Special educational needs, including appeals to the First-Tier Tribunal and the Upper Tribunal

- Public law claims involving education provision, such as admissions, exclusions, attendance and transport
- The organisation of education provision, including academy conversion, local authority governance and powers and the regulation of the education sector
- Ombudsman systems, including the Local Government Ombudsman and the OIA
- Contract disputes in particular involving independent schools and further and higher education corporations
- Employment in education and the specific rules relating to teachers, lecturers and support staff including professional disciplinary work and cases before the GTC
