Hardwicke offers outstanding expertise in the field of clinical negligence. Our barristers include a number of clinical negligence practitioners recommended by the Legal 500 and Chambers (UK).

Hardwicke barristers represent Claimants and Defendants in claims concerning all branches of the medical profession. We deal with the entire range of clinical negligence issues,  including surgical, orthopaedic and gynaecological negligence, delayed or missed diagnosis, issues of consent and related areas, such as product liability in the clinical context. Our barristers regularly appear at inquests involving issues of potential clinical negligence and one of our members has extensive experience sitting as a Deputy Coroner.

We have particular experience in handling negligence claims related to cerebral palsy. In the past year, members of chambers have concluded several multi-million pound claims, including one negotiated settlement of £7.2 million. Our barristers also lead the field in the growing area of negligence in alternative medicine.

In addition to our more traditional clinical negligence work, we are also retained by a number of local authorities to advise on their continuing care obligations.
