Alex specialises solely in property-related litigation and advisory work. He is known for his client-focused, practical approach and has been recommended as a leading junior for property litigation by the Legal 500 since 2006.
He has experience of both sides of the legal profession having spent a year as an employed barrister in Mayer Brown’s Real Estate & Environmental Litigation department between 2001 and 2002. Alex appears regularly in the High Court, County Court and Leasehold Valuation Tribunal, is licensed to accept public access instructions and has considerable experience of mediation.

All aspects of commercial landlord & tenant law including: breaches of covenant, consents, construction of terms/clauses, dilapidations, forfeiture (and relief from), injunctions, lease renewal, insolvency, service charge disputes and unlawful eviction.
Landlord & Tenant - Residential
All aspects of residential landlord & tenant law including: breaches of covenant, consent matters, construction of terms/clauses, disrepair, forfeiture (and relief from), injunctions, insolvency, service charge disputes and unlawful eviction. Does not do leasehold enfranchisement.
Property & Private Client
Social Housing
Acts almost exclusively for social landlords (both LAs and RSLs) on landlord and tenant aspects of housing litigation matters. Also, experienced in real property issues (development disputes, boundary issues, et cetera), matters before the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and the drafting of tenancy agreements and policy.
Also very experienced in anti-social behaviour, disrepair, other breach of tenancy matters and general possession claims but does not do homelessness or judicial review.

Experienced in a broad range of land/real property matters such as adverse possession, boundaries, mortgages, nuisance, party walls, rights of way/easements and trespass as well as issues arising out of the sale of properties (i.e. breach of contract/misrepresentation, failure to complete, et cetera). Does not do agricultural work.
Trusts of Land
Experienced in Trusts of Land & Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 matters acting for both claimants and defendants in co-ownership of property disputes.
