Robin joined Hardwicke in 2008 following successful completion of pupillage in chambers. He is a barrister with experience in numerous areas of law and he continues to undertake a broad range of work including housing, mortgages, contract/commercial, personal injury, criminal injuries compensation and costs. However, his main areas of interest are education law and public law.

Education
Robin spent much of his pupillage with members of the Education Team, gaining exposure to all aspects of education law. He has provided representation and advice in relation to such issues as educational negligence, special educational needs, disability discrimination, school attendance, school admissions, school exclusions, school fees and school transport. Robin is editor of ‘Education Law Monitor’ and has delivered various education law seminars.
Recent work:
- Appeared before both the First Tier Tribunal and SENDIST Wales in appeals concerning the content of Statements of Special Educational Needs.
- Provided advice concerning the duties of local authorities to young adults with SEN.
- Provided advice to Independent Appeal Panels hearing selection appeals.
- Delivered seminars to lawyers and education professionals on the implications of the Equality Act 2010 for school admissions and exclusions, and other developments.
Public Law
Robin is a member of Hardwicke’s Public Law Group. He is primarily concerned with public law issues arising in the context of education law. However, over the past two years Robin has gained experience in many branches of public law. For example, he was instructed in relation to a large scale trunk-road planning inquiry and continues to be instructed in a major Judicial Review action arising from alleged acts of internment and torture in Iraq.
