Employers’ Liability Insurance
Hardwicke is insured for Employers’ Liability for £10m with Aviva.
Professional Indemnity Insurance
Every barrister must have professional indemnity insurance and this is provided by the Bar Mutual Indemnity Fund (BMIF) which provides cover to individual barristers up to £2.5m. Members of chambers may choose to take additional top up insurance cover depending on their practice requirements. Details of this additional cover can be supplied upon request.
Terms of Business
Our standard terms of business are in accordance with the terms of business as detailed by the Bar Council. Our terms and conditions are available on request and will accompany the letter of engagement or service agreement provided at the start of any matter our barristers are engaged to undertake.
All members of Hardwicke are data controllers. Hardwicke acts as an agent and a data processor for each member of chambers. Neither Hardwicke nor an individual barrister instructed is a data processor. Hardwicke and our barristers have detailed policies in place to ensure our compliance with GDPR. Unless otherwise agreed, the English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any claim, dispute or difference concerning our services or any matter arising from it.
