Hardwicke’s leading position in costs litigation has been given a significant boost with the news that Robin Dunne, a specialist costs and litigation funding barrister, will be joining on 16th July. Robin also handles professional negligence claims involving solicitors, specialising in those relating to costs. He is particularly well placed to cover these areas having previously been an employed barrister and partner in a City of London law firm. Robin has focused on costs litigation since being called to the Bar in 2002 and has over 15 years’ experience dealing with all types of costs claims. The author of Essential Guide to Civil Costs & Litigation Funding, in early July 2018 Law Brief Publishing is also bringing out Robin’s ‘A Practical Guide to Solicitor and Client Costs’: an important guide setting out the main issues and challenges that arise when clients challenge their solicitor’s bill.
PJ Kirby QC, joint head of chambers who is himself a leading costs litigation silk recommended by both Chambers UK and Legal 500, said: “We could not be more delighted to welcome Robin to Hardwicke. Costs work continues to increase with challenges to solicitors’ fees increasingly common. Robin’s presence and profile in the area will help us offer clients experience across all levels of call and build on our share of the market.”
Robin is equally upbeat: “My move to Hardwicke, as a leading set in all my practice areas, gives me the opportunity to work as part of an experienced team supported by first class administration. I am excited to be coming into an environment where I can share my enthusiasm for costs litigation and professional negligence with other key practitioners and to provide a rounded service to clients and help develop these areas of practice.”
