Anna Tkaczynska returns to Hardwicke after sabbatical

Hardwicke is delighted to announce that Anna Tkaczynska will be returning from sabbatical to full time practice on 10 April 2012.

Anna, who was called to the Bar in 2008, spent the past year on sabbatical in New Orleans as a Research Fellow for Reprieve. Reprieve is a UK-based NGO which advocates for human rights of prisoners on death row worldwide, for those held in secret prisons and for those detained in Guantanamo Bay. Specifically, Anna worked on an EC funded project with the aim to identify and assist foreign nationals on death row in the USA. For further information on the project please visit Reprieve's website.

Anna will resume her practice and undertake work in a number of areas. She has a particular interest in Public law, Human Rights, Education, Community Care, Judicial Review, Discrimination, and Social Housing. She will continue to work for a variety of clients including individuals, RSLs, local authorities and institutions. In the context of Education law (SENDISTs and school exclusion hearings), she has provided pro bono assistance on a number of occasions and is happy to continue to do so.

In December 2011, Anna was re-elected as an executive committee member of the Human Rights Lawyers Association, and she will continue to be an active member in the up-coming year.

If you would like further information on Anna’s practice or availability, please contact Daniel Kemp on 020 7691 0003 (DDI) or daniel.kemp@hardwicke.co.uk
